Within hours of its release, the anime reached the number one ranking in terms of ratings on MyAnimeList with over 133,000 reviews so far, dethroning the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood anime.

The anime adaptation is being produced by Doga Kobo studios, while Oshi no Ko is a seinen-themed story that narrates what happens behind the scenes in the Japanese art industry.
Synopsis:
The story follows a doctor named Gorou, a fan of aidol16-year-old Ai Hoshin. One day, Hoshino appears at his office, claiming to be pregnant with twins, but her manager tells her to abort the babies. However, the idol refuses; she wants to have both children. Gorou promises her a safe delivery. Little does he know that an encounter with a mysterious figure will result in his premature death, or so he thought. Opening his eyes in the arms of his beloved idol, Gorou discovers he has been reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino, 's newborn son ! With his world turned upside down, Gorou soon discovers that the world of showbiz is full of controversies, where talent doesn't always bring success.
Finally, Akasaka and Yokoyari launched the manga magazine Young Jump 's Shueisha in 2020. The publisher released the sixth compiled book volume in November 2021.
