The anime Oshi no Ko has become a mega-hit among otaku; it's no wonder that after the first episode, it reached the top of the ranking , surpassing one of the most popular anime of recent times, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. However, a widespread argument broke out among otaku on Twitter, where they discussed the rating Oshi no Ko is receiving and why it's at the top of MAL.

Check out some of the comments:

  • Oshi no Ko doesn't even come close to Fullmetal Alchemist; it's absurd that this cliché story surpasses it.
  • Demon Slayer chasing after Oshi no Ko? What a joke!
  • Compare the animation of Kimetsu no Yaiba with that of Oshi no Ko and you'll see the difference between the two.
  • "How did Shingeki no Mi pass? The work is perfect!"
  • Seriously, this anime only got number 1 because of a death? Lol, I think they need to watch good stories, not this idol stuff.
  • Idol anime, lol, hold my rating of 1, Fullmetal is religion.

Synopsis:

The story follows a doctor named  Gorou , a fan of a 16-year-old idol named Ai Hoshin . One day, Hoshino appears at his office, claiming to be pregnant with twins, but her manager tells her to abort the babies. However, the  idol refuses to abort; she wants to have both children. Gorou promises her a safe delivery. Little does he know that an encounter with a mysterious figure will result in his premature death, or so he thought. But opening his eyes in the arms of his beloved idol, Gorou discovers he has been reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino, Ai 's newborn son ! With his world turned upside down, Gorou soon discovers that the world of showbiz is full of controversies, where talent doesn't always bring success.

Akasaka and Yokoyari began the manga series in Shueisha 's Young Jump  magazine in 2020. The publisher released the sixth compiled book volume in November 2021.
