Aniplex has revealed a new teaser for the film Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend, confirming its premiere on October 16th in Japan. The announcement took place during the AnimeJapan 2026 event, which also featured an updated version of the official visual.

The film adapts the final part of light novel . The production retains familiar names from the franchise, including director Sōichi Masui and screenwriter Masahiro Yokotani, with animation by CloverWorks.
The core team returns almost complete, including character designs by Satomi Tamura. The soundtrack also continues with the band Fox Capture Plan. The new film indicates the conclusion of the story, aligned with the final volume of the original work.
The Rascal Does Not Dream series is a supernatural drama light novel that follows Sakuta and his encounters with phenomena known as "puberty syndrome." The adaptation began with Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai in 2018, followed by films such as Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl.
