Netflix has revealed a new teaser and visual for the second season of Sakamoto Days , an anime based on the manga by Yuto Suzuki . In addition to the January 2027 release window, the video introduced new cast members and important changes to the production team.

Changes in the production team
The new season will have Daisuke Nakajima as the main director, replacing Masaki Watanabe, who will now serve as supervising director. Taku Kishimoto remains responsible for the scripts, while Yo Moriyama returns as character designer. The soundtrack will continue to be composed by Yuki Hayashi, with animation once again produced by TMS Entertainment.

Synopsis
The story follows Taro Sakamoto, a legendary hitman who abandoned his life of crime after falling in love, getting married, and starting a family. Now the owner of a small convenience store, he tries to protect his peaceful life while facing constant threats from his past.
The original manga began its serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in November 2020, following a one-shot released in 2019. Finally, in addition to the anime, the franchise also received a live-action film released in Japanese theaters in April 2026.
