Get ready for a new phase! The second part of Sakamoto Days is officially coming to Netflix soon. This new season focuses on intense action, putting the slice-of-life moments in the background.
Taro Sakamoto and Shin Asakura will return to the battlefield to protect those they love. Now, the mission to kill Sakamoto reaches a new level among the assassins.
Prisons, examinations and infiltrations in the new arc
Part 1 adapted chapters 1 through 37 of the manga. However, it cut slice-of-life scenes, which divided opinions among fans. These scenes could have helped the story's pacing, especially since some fights lacked fluidity. Still, the anime progressed to chapter 37. Thus, Part 2 will continue adapting the Death Row Prisoner Arc (chapters 32 to 54). In this arc, X frees criminals and sends them to kill Sakamoto.

From now on, lighthearted moments will be rare. The story adopts a more direct tone, with constant confrontations and increasing tension in each episode. Beyond this arc, it's possible the anime will advance to the JCC Transfer Exam (chapters 55 to 72). It may also begin the JCC Infiltration Arc (chapters 73 to 104). In these phases, Sakamoto and Shin attempt to access JCC organization data to find clues about Slur.
Quality of the animation and worldwide distribution

The animation received criticism for static scenes lacking visual impact. Despite this, the new trailer pleased some viewers with vibrant colors and more movement. Since production was already underway, profound changes seem unlikely. Still, fans expect some improvements in the combat. Another problem with Part 1 was its early release on Netflix Japan. Episodes were released a week before the international version, causing widespread dissatisfaction.
The expectation is that Part 2 will correct this. Netflix is expected to release the episodes globally on Mondays, with subtitles and dubbing in several languages. Sakamoto Days will remain exclusive to the platform, at least until the end of the current season.
Sakamoto Days: Part 2 Release Date
