Synopsis:
Wakana Gojo is an insecure hina doll maker, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, a skilled hina doll artist of long standing. While Gojou loves his hobby passionately, he isolates himself socially at school, believing he will be ridiculed for what he does. Having not made a single friend during his school years, his grandfather worries about him.
One day in class, a girl bumps her head on Gojou's desk. She apologizes to him before rejoining her friends. Gojou identifies her as Marin Kitagawa, an incredibly cheerful, friendly, and popular girl in his class, noting that "she lives in a completely different world from his." But their paths cross, and because Marin is extremely friendly, she begins to talk to him more often.
The anime premiered in January of this year and had a total of 12 episodes produced by the Cloverworks. The series became a public phenomenon with each episode released.
The manga My Dress-Up Darling was first published in Young Gangan in January 2018.
