Loid, still suspicious that Fiona is dealing with the consequences of her last secret mission, reluctantly accepts the assignment. However, his objective is twofold: to take advantage of the occasion to also pass on confidential information.
Upon arriving at Fiona's residence, Loid finds the agent trying to hide the physical and emotional exhaustion caused by overwork. The tension is heightened by Fiona's effort to maintain a composed appearance, even in her weakened state. She refuses Gerald Gorey entry and, with great difficulty, decides to open the door for Loid.
During their brief encounter, Loid misinterprets the visible frustration on Fiona's face as displeasure with his presence. He then politely takes his leave, believing he is being intrusive. The dialogue, short but impactful, marks a rare moment of explicit concern from Loid:
"I just... I just wanted to make sure you're okay. Don't overexert yourself. You've already done more than necessary."
Fiona, moved, absorbs these words as a sincere gesture of care, something rare coming from her colleague. Alone again, she recalls the previous advice about not overstepping her own boundaries and, for the first time, seems willing to listen. As she rests, she reflects on her decisions and silently admits:
"Maybe... slowing down isn't so bad after all."
