In an interview with GamesRadar+ , Taz Skylar says that there are no CGI applications in Sanji's scenes, as he performed all the action scenes himself alongside his stunt double. Furthermore, he states that he already had an athletic background, but lacked martial arts training. Therefore, to learn to fight like Sanji, the actor trained for several hours a day.
“I was already training with a friend of mine here who is a black belt in taekwondo. And then when I arrived in South Africa, we started with about two hours of training a day. It was clear that it wasn't going to be enough, because I really didn't have any kind of martial arts training.”
Soon after realizing he would need to increase his training hours, the actor enlisted the help of his personal trainer in London. He requested this extra assistance because there weren't enough trainers available to train him for five hours a day.
“So, I brought my personal trainer from London, who stayed with me for about four months in South Africa in a separate Airbnb. And he would just keep the work going, so the stunt trainers, including my stunt double, would train for as many hours as they were available and could dedicate to me, and then Donnie, my other trainer, would keep training me literally until the place closed, and it was like that day after day.”
Synopsis:
The story revolves around Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who gained a body made of rubber after eating the magical Gomu Gomu no Mi (Rubber Fruit). He was inspired by his childhood idol, the powerful pirate Shanks the Red-Haired, to become a pirate and sail on a journey across the sea to find the mythical treasure, the One Piece, and proclaim himself the King of the Pirates.
