In an interview with the Japanese magazine Newtype , about the anime Majo no Tabitabi , the light novel author, Jougi Shiraishi , revealed a peculiar request he made to the anime staff.
Interview translated from English
Question: What kind of interaction did you have with the animation team (staff)?
Shiraishi: The only thing I asked was , 'Please don't show any panties.' I wanted this work to be seen by people of all ages, so we wanted to keep the audience broad. That's the only important request I made to them.”
Although peculiar, it's a sensible request, since the anime audience is mostly male, studios spare no effort in animating ecchi scenes. In a lighthearted adventure and fantasy work like Majo no Tabitabi, this would certainly detract from the story's original premise.
Majo no Tabitabi premiered on October 2nd.
