The official website for the film adaptation of Shinichi Ishizuka 's manga Blue Giant revealed on Wednesday that the film will be released in Japan starting February 17, 2023.
The film was originally scheduled to premiere this year, and the website also revealed a new look and the film's crew.
Synopsis
Miyamoto Dai, a student with a passion for basketball, has his life changed the first time he sees a live jazz performance. The incredible music touches him deeply, and he immediately decides to dedicate himself to the saxophone. He has no skills, no formal training, and no idea what he's up against, but his obsession drives him to play that instrument day after day. Will passion be enough to make him the player of his dreams? This award-winning manga by Shinichi Ishizuka, compiled into five omnibus volumes for its English debut, is a perfect drama about the power of music.
Yuzuru Tachikawa is directing the film at studio NUT. NUMBER 8, while the editor of the Blue Giant manga and story director of the Blue Giant Supreme manga is writing the screenplay. TOHO Animation will distribute the film.
