The Demon Girl Next Door: Manga gets a release date after hiatus

I'm a technology enthusiast and a lover of anime, manga, and games. The vast majority of anime I enjoy belong to the Shounen demographic.

The June issue of Manga Time Kirara announced this Friday (28) that Izumo Ito will resume his manga The Demon Girl Next Door (Machikado Mazoku) in the next issue of the magazine, which will be released on May 26.

The Houbunsha Comic Fuz app is therefore allowing readers to follow the story by adding the seven chapters that have not yet been compiled into printed volumes.

Ito had long suffered from an unspecified illness that severely affected her stamina and eyesight, making it difficult for her to draw. Her health led to several previous hiatuses of the manga, including November 2019 and November 2021.

The manga inspired an anime adaptation that aired from July to September 2019. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime and streamed it on the HIDIVE service when it aired in Japan. A second anime season titled Machikado Mazoku 2-Chōme premiered on April 7, 2022. Additionally, Sentai Filmworks also licensed this season and streamed it on HIDIVE.

Synopsis

One morning, 15-year-old Yoshida Yuko wakes up to discover she has grown demon horns and a tail! Not only that, she also learns from her mother that she possesses supernatural powers and an important mission: to restore her family's glory by defeating the local magical girl. The magical girl in question is Chiyoda Momo, a student at Yuko's school.

Finally, with her strength far below what was expected, Yuko's task of defeating Momo will be even more challenging.
