My name is Rafael Alves, known as Shinzo. I created the AnimeNew website in 2009 to offer news about anime, manga, and games directly from Japan.

It is with little satisfaction, although it was already expected, that the announcement comes that the production of the Hunter x Hunter has ended after the completion of the dubbing of episode 148 (which is currently at episode 143), confirmed by voice actress Megumi Han.

Hunter x Hunter has had a hiatus, and what a hiatus it was… The anime stopped airing in 2001, only returning 10 years later, in August 2011 with a new version: Hunter x Hunter (2011) or Hunter x Hunter remake.

Yoshihiro Togashi (the author) is already famous for his immense laziness. The manga will continue to be released weekly. The anime will probably go up to the meeting of Gon and Ging, almost the same as the ending of the version that started in 1999; Gon was looking for Ging but found someone else, and the ending left that suspense of "Who is he?"

To celebrate the end of the series, animator Takahiko Abiru will be traveling to the United States for the first time. Check out the tweet he left for fans:

Hunter x Hunter is a manga series written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi (Yu Yu Hakusho). It is published in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine and currently has 32 tankōbon volumes. As of August 2011, the manga had sold a total of 55 million copies in Japan. The animated series was originally produced by Nippon Animation in 62 episodes and 6 OVAs. It currently has a remake produced by Madhouse. It also had a musical adaptation in 2001, performed by the voice actors of the characters.
