The manga The Fake Alchemist (Nisemono no Renkinjutsushi), written by Jirō Sugiura and illustrated by Umemaru, will be adapted into a TV anime. The announcement was made by Kadokawa, which also released a teaser visual and a celebratory video for the production. The animation will be handled by studio Passione.

The work gained prominence in Japan after surpassing the mark of 1 million copies in circulation in its commercial edition. Now, the popular isekai fantasy title is preparing its debut on screen, further expanding the series' reach among new audiences.
A fantasy filled with alchemy and magic
The story takes place in the city-state of Orichalconia, where alchemy and magic are part of everyday life. The protagonist, Paracelsus, is a reincarnated man who lives discreetly as an alchemist while hiding his special abilities. However, his routine changes after meeting Nora, a young enslaved shaman.
Later, he encounters Coco, an elf who has lost all four limbs and all five senses. His attempt to help her triggers increasingly larger events involving alchemy, sorcery, dimensions, and even deities.
Authors celebrate the adaptation
Sugiura stated that he was surprised to see his work adapted into anime and thanked readers for their support over the years. Umemaru, in turn, highlighted his happiness at seeing his work receive a new interpretation at the hands of the animation team.
