Kadokawa has released new information about the anime The Kept Man of the Princess Knight (Hime Kishi-sama no Himo), an adaptation of the light novel written by Toru Shirogane. In addition to a new promotional video and a new official image, the production confirmed its premiere for January 2027 on Japanese TV.

The main characters also received significant attention. Veteran voice actor Junichi Suwabe will play Matthew, while Mikako Komatsu will voice the knight princess Arwin. The story follows the pair in a city dominated by crime, danger, and disputes over treasures hidden in a gigantic dungeon.
A city marked by secrets
Known as Dungeon City, the story features Arwin, the Crimson Knight Princess, who seeks a legendary artifact capable of restoring her destroyed kingdom. Alongside her is Matthew, a man seen by all as lazy and useless. However, behind his questionable reputation lies a secret that no one knows.

Team and production revealed
The animation is being produced by Studio BLADE, directed by Chihiro Kumano. Deko Akao is writing the scripts, and Hisao Ishii is handling character designs. Taku Iwasaki will be composing the soundtrack.
The original work has sold over 200,000 copies and won the grand prize at the 28th Dengeki Novel Awards. In addition to the light novels, the series also has a manga adaptation.
