The production team behind the anime The Legendary Hero Is Dead! has released the first full promotional video and a second piece of promotional art.

The video announces two more cast members and additional crew members; they are:
- Yuichi Nakamura as Kyle Osment
- Sakura Shinfuku as Millie Eunice
Yu Sato (Space Battleship Tiramisu, Tenka Hyakken) is supervising the series scripts. Yosuke Yabumoto (Duel Masters, Tribe Nine) is designing the characters, and Akito Fujiwara is designing the monsters and props. Other staff members include:

Wataru Kato and Shunichi Toki voice the main character Touka Scott. Toki also plays the deceased hero Sion Bladan. Other cast members include:

Rion Kujo (Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero, s-CRY-ed) is directing the anime at LIDEN FILMS. Kanako Nishi and Yukio Kondo of MOKA☆ are composing the music. Tohokushinsha is handling sound production, and Pony Canyon is in charge of music production.
Synopsis
The story follows Touka, a slightly perverted young farmer who dreams of becoming a hero and winning the heart of the girl he desires. However, the appearance of the true hero in his village takes an unexpected turn when he is accidentally killed by Touka, forcing him to bury him to hide the evidence. Not only that, but upon waking the next day, Touka finds himself in the hero's dead body, forced by a necromancer to take on the responsibility of saving the world in his place.
