The anime The Ogre's Bride (Oni no Hanayome) received a new trailer this Saturday, bringing more members to the cast of the adaptation of the light novel written by Kureha. The series premieres in July 2026 and will be produced by the studio Colored Pencil Animation Japan, responsible for the animation of the project.

Among the announced characters are Taito Ban as Takamichi Araki, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Ouga Kiyama, and Aya Endō as Sakurako Kiyama. The main cast also includes Saori Hayami as Yuzu Shinonome and Yūichirō Umehara voicing the character Reiya Kiryuin.

The story follows Yuzu, an ordinary student who lives in the shadow of her older sister, known for being the fiancée of a demon. However, her routine changes completely after meeting a powerful ogre who claims she will be his future wife. The plot blends supernatural romance and fantasy in a Japan where humans and demons coexist.
Franchise continues to grow
Kazuhito Ōmiya is directing the anime, while Yumi Kamakura is supervising the scripts. Additionally, Masaru Yokoyama is composing the soundtrack for the adaptation. The novel began in 2019 on the Novema! platform and has already surpassed 5.8 million copies in circulation, including both the novel and manga.
