Publisher TO Books confirmed this week that the light novel The Person I Loved Asked Me to Die in My Sister's Stead anime adaptation . Despite the announcement, the project's format and the team involved have not yet been revealed.

The story follows Wisteria, a young sorceress who agrees to enter the enigmatic Twilight Realm in place of her younger sister. The decision comes after a devastating request from the man she loves. From then on, the plot delves into themes such as sacrifice, loss, and the marks left by time. Meanwhile, years later, the appearance of a stranger with a face from the past changes everything.

The author, Mizuki Nagano, originally published the work on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2020. However, the serialization ended in 2022, after the conclusion of the third arc. Additionally, the printed version already has eight volumes in Japan.

Announcement

The manga , illustrated by Maki Yamori, also gained prominence. In fact, it repeatedly appears in the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! , reinforcing the franchise's popularity. Outside of Japan, it is published by Tokyopop .
