The official Twitter account for The Quintessential Quintuplets (Gotōbun no Hanayome) announced on Tuesday that the second season of the anime will be postponed due to the coronavirus (Covid-19), although the new season, titled The Quintessential Quintuplets ∬, was scheduled to premiere in October.
Kaori ( Barakamon , Shirobako! ) is directing the new season, replacing Satoshi Kuwabara. Keiichiro Ochi returns from the first season to supervise the script. Bibury Animation Studio ( Azur Lane , Grisaia: Phantom Trigger ) will animate the second season, replacing Tezuka Productions .
The anime's production committee asked fans to continue showing their support as they strive to do a good job and maintain the safety of their team.
Finally, the first season of the anime premiered in January 2019 with 12 episodes. The manga is by author Negi Haruba and was published by Kodansha in Weekly Shonen Magazine from August 2017 to February 2020.
