Tokyo Ghoul Manga

Author Sui Ishida announced that he is finishing his main work, the manga Tokyo Ghoul, with chapter 143 in this year's issue of Weekly Young Jump magazine on September 18. Shueisha will publish volume 14 and the manga's finale on October 17.

The story revolves around strange murders occurring in Tokyo. Due to liquid evidence at the scene, the police conclude that the attacks are the work of a vampire-like "eater." Kaneki is an 18-year-old college student passionate about Japanese novels. He and his friend Hide theorize that vampires are imitating humans, which is why they've never been seen. Little do they know that this theory might be true… One day, Kaneki meets a girl who also reads Japanese novels, and by a twist of fate, she also likes his favorite authors. They go on a date, and everything is going well until they arrive at a deserted place. The girl reveals herself to be one of the vampires from the urban legend and tries to turn Kaneki into one of her meals.

Ishida launched the manga in Weekly Young Jump in 2011, and Shuhei Morita (Kakurenbo) is currently directing the TV anime adaptation at Studio Pierrot.
