Creative Arts announced via Kickstarter this Friday the trailer for the anime titled Under the Dog. The project aims to raise approximately US$580,000 by September 7th.
The project aims to carry on the tradition of classic science fiction titles like Akira and Ghost in the Shell. The material was written between 1994 and 1995. The production team is using Kickstarter to avoid the funding process of production committees, in order to maintain creative control of the anime. If successful on Kickstarter, the team hopes to expand more projects within the Dog universe.
Masahiro Ando (Hana-Saku Iroha, Zetsuen no Tempest) will direct the series based on a story by Jiro Ishii. Yuusuke Kozaki (Fire Emblem: Awakening) is designing the characters, Kinema Citrus is in charge of animation, and Orange Co. (Ghost in the Shell Arise) is handling the 3D CGI.
