Junji Ito 's horror manga should know Uzumaki , one of the author's most renowned stories. However, its anime adaptation has been delayed for several years in a row without a release date being given. On Saturday (the 22nd), the anime received a new animated clip, showing a bit of the animation style it may have in the future.

The new clip features the characters from Uzumaki in a black and white animation style, similar to manga, and reflects the dark theme of its story. Although there is no confirmation of a release date, this clip indicates that the anime has not been forgotten and is still in production.
Since the adaptation was announced in August 2019, many Junji Ito fans have been waiting for the Uzumaki anime. However, hopes for its release have drastically diminished as the anime has been repeatedly delayed. Therefore, at their Anime Expo Production IG executives stated that they are still working on the anime.
Uzumaki will be adapted into a 4-episode anime and broadcast on Adult Swim . Production IG studio is responsible for the production. Furthermore, Hiroshi Nagahama will be the animation director, Colin Stetson will be the music composer, and Uki Satake will voice the protagonist Kirie.
Synopsis:
In the city of Kurozu-chô, Kirie Goshima and her boyfriend, Shuichi Saito, realize that several strange events are happening around them. Because of a mysterious curse, the people of their city exhibit a constant addiction to spiral shapes. This obsession leads the citizens to their deaths, so Kirie and Shuichi try to escape this eternal spiral that traps them.
