The light novel Witch and Mercenary (Majo to Yōhei), written by Kaeru Chōhōkiteki, will receive an anime in 2027. The announcement was made by Bandai Namco Entertainment , along with a teaser, main staff, and the first cast members revealed.
The film will be directed by Shinpei Ezaki , known for Vivy Fluorite Eye's Song , and produced by studio 8-Bit ( Blue Lock ). The screenplay is by Taishirou Tanimura, while Keita Matsumoto will handle character designs. The soundtrack will be composed by Rei Ishizuka.
In the main cast, Saori Hayami plays Siasha, while Taito Ban voices the mercenary Zig Crane. The team also includes Akiko Fujita as sound director, reinforcing the experienced team involved in the project.
Synopsis
The story follows Siasha, a witch feared for her destructive capabilities. After surviving yet another confrontation, she decides to travel alongside the mercenary Zig Crane in search of a safe place. However, the journey reveals even greater threats.
Witch and Mercenary is a fantasy light novel initially published on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website between 2021 and 2022. The print version began in 2023 in Micro Magazine , with illustrations by Bench Kanase .
