The anime World Trigger has announced its new "Reboot Project" with a teaser that reveals updated visuals and confirms the return of the main cast. The proposal is to revisit the work from the beginning, with technical improvements and a reorganized narrative.

Furthermore, the original voice actors return to their roles, including Yūma Kuga, Osamu Mikumo, and Chika Amatori. The core team also remains, with Morio Hatano directing and Hiroyuki Yoshino overseeing the script, reinforcing the project's creative continuity.

The reboot will adapt the manga from the first chapter, including important arcs such as Border Enlistment, Large-Scale Invasion, and B-Rank Wars. Production remains in the hands of Toei Animation, which promises a more refined version of the first season.

The central idea is to present a "turbocharged" version of the beginning of the anime, correcting limitations of the original adaptation shown in 2014. With this, the project seeks to align visual quality and narrative pacing with the most recent seasons.

History of anime and publication

The anime premiered in 2014, followed by new seasons in 2015, 2021, and 2022. The Crunchyroll distributed the series globally, including dubbed versions. The manga, created by Daisuke Ashihara, began in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2013.

After hiatuses due to the author's health issues, the work moved to Jump SQ. magazine in 2018. Despite frequent breaks, the series remains active and recently released its 29th volume in Japan.
