The manga is inspiring the production of a spin-off that will appear on pixiv's digital manga service Pool . The team will announce more details later.
It is worth remembering that the main work ended on Friday (16/07) after being published for more than six years.
Synopsis
Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii (or Wotakoi for short) tells the story of Narumi, an office worker who tries to hide her hobbies from her co-workers. Being a little more specific, she is an otaku obsessed with anime and yaoi manga – a perfect fujoshi. At her last job, her colleagues found out about her interests and started avoiding her, and even her romantic relationship fell apart because of it. Now in a new job, Narumi meets Hirotaka, a childhood friend addicted to games, who doesn't try to hide his nerdy ways. After hearing the girl talk about her disastrous love life, Hirotaka asks Narumi on a date. What could go wrong with two obsessive nerds dating, right?
Author Fujita then launched the manga on the image-sharing website “pixiv” in 2014. In November 2015, the manga moved to publisher Ichijinsha's digital manga magazine Comic POOL. The publisher published the manga's 10th volume on February 26, while Kodansha Comics released the manga's fourth volume in July 2020, and will publish the fifth volume on September 21.
The main work then ended after 60 chapters, and its 11th and final volume will be officially released on October 14th. The special edition of this final volume will accompany the third disc of the anime , with an episode based on the story “Company Outing” that appears in the sixth volume of the manga.
Wotakoi's manga therefore has more than 12 million copies in circulation, including printed and digital versions.
