Netflix has confirmed that Xolo Maridueña , known for his roles in Cobra Kai and Blue Beetle , will play Portgas D. Ace Luffy 's adoptive brother , in the live-action One Piece . The announcement was made this Wednesday (5), generating enormous repercussion among fans of the franchise.
In the story, Ace is a member of Whitebeard and the wielder of the Mera Mera no Mi , a Devil Fruit that grants him the power to control and transform into fire. His presence marks important and decisive moments in the manga and anime, making him one of the most beloved characters in all of Eiichiro Oda .
The character is expected to appear only in the 3rd season of the adaptation, scheduled for 2027 , since the 2nd season premieres in early 2026. Therefore, fans will have to wait a little longer to see Maridueña in action as Luffy's charismatic brother.
