Synopsis:

Ozu, a friend of the book's protagonist, accidentally gets the air conditioning remote control in the students' apartments wet, breaking the unit in the middle of the sweltering summer. The students, along with Akashi, discuss what to do about the situation. In the midst of this, a student from 25 years in the future arrives with a time machine. The protagonist then uses this to travel back in time and try to retrieve the remote control before it gets wet.

The Tatami Galaxy was released in 2004, featuring a first-person protagonist and their adventures in university life in parallel universes.
