Yowai 5000-nen no Soushoku Dragon – 2nd Promotional Video Released

The official Japanese website for the anime adaptation of the light novel Yowai 5000-nen no Soushoku Dragon, Iware Naki Jaryu Nintei (A Herbivorous Dragon of 5,000 Years Gets Unfairly Villainized) revealed a second promotional video on Saturday.

The video reveals more members of the voice cast, the opening theme song, and the premiere date of January 6th .

The newly announced cast members are:

  • Yoshino Nanjo as Ryatt
  • Mariko Miyase as Aliante
  • Shuka Saito as the Saint of Water

Saito also sings the opening theme song “Bokura wa Genius,” as heard in the video above.

Synopsis

A 5000-year-old vegan dragon was living peacefully when one day a young woman appeared in his cave. She offered herself as a sacrifice to gain favor with her village. He played along as the great "Evil Dragon, the leader of the Demon Army" in order to get rid of her.

LAN studio produced the work, which therefore premiered on bilibili on July 30th. The platform began streaming the series with English subtitles on August 1st under the title "A Herbivorous Dragon of 5,000 Years Gets Unfairly Villainized".

Kaisei Enomoto launched the novels on the popular website “ Shousetsuka ni Narou ” in June 2017, and published the latest chapter in June 2020. Kadokawa then began publishing the novels with illustrations by Syugao in February 2018, and published the third volume in October 2019.

Artist Kouichi Muro published a manga adaptation of the work in Square Enix 's Gangan Joker from 2018 to 2019. Square Enix published the fifth and final volume of the adaptation in March 2020.
