The anime is being produced by studio HOTLINE, directed by Yūsuke Suzuki, known for his work on This Monster Wants to Eat Me and Duel Masters Win. The script will be written by Gigaemon Ichikawa, while character designs will be by Yūki Kitajima. Sound direction will be handled by Takatoshi Hamano.

To celebrate the news, artists Ruria Miyuki and Karu Yoneshiro released special commemorative illustrations. In addition, a new spin-off work is already in production.

The prequel manga will tell the story of Alus's past

The spin-off titled The Greatest Magicmaster's Retirement Plan Zero – The Secret History of the Beginning will debut in the Japanese winter. The manga is once again illustrated by Karu Yoneshiro and will show Alus's journey before entering the magic academy, connecting important events to the main story.

The story follows Alus Reigin, considered the greatest Magicmaster in human history. After reclaiming lost territories and defeating countless enemies known as Fiends, he requests military retirement at the age of 16. However, his reputation leads him to assume a new identity at a magical institution, where he trains future successors while continuing to confront threats away from the spotlight.

The series began publication in 2015 on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō portal and has already reached 20 volumes. Meanwhile, follow more news about anime, manga, and new seasons here at AnimeNew.
