The digital strategy company Analyzelog this Friday Animelog, an official YouTube channel offering anime content . The intention is to attract contributors to expand the channel's catalog, which already includes production companies such as Toei Animation, Nippon Animation, and Tezuka Productions, along with publishers Kodansha, Shogakukan, and Shueisha.
Many Japanese companies, such as Kadokawa and Toei Animation, have their own YouTube channels. But the partners argued that by joining forces on a single channel they could increase viewership and advertising revenue faster than doing so individually.
According to research by the Japan Animation Association in 2019, the industry registered growth for the sixth consecutive year, with total earnings of $20 billion and 10% growth in streaming.
Analyzelog also reported "the problem of illegal video distribution nowadays, but 'AnimeLog' will only distribute licensed animations."
Animelog has shut down its channel.
