The anime Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san? (Jirai nandesu ka? Chihara-san) has revealed new cast members, previously unreleased details about the production team, and confirmed that its premiere has been postponed to January 2027.Initially scheduled for 2026, the adaptation of manga will air on the Super Animeism Turbo block on MBS and TBS.

In addition to the schedule change, the cast has gained three new names. Maaya Uchida will play Chinatsu Iwakura , a friend of the protagonist Mai Chihara . Tomokazu Sugita will voice Hibiya , Kuroki 's childhood friend , while Daisuke Ono will play Kazami , another companion of the protagonist since childhood. In parallel, the franchise also announced a musical project focused on Mai Chihara .
Synopsis
The anime Are You a Landmine Chihara-san? tells the story of Kuroki, a high school student who ends up sitting next to Mai Chihara, a girl known for her gloomy, jirai-kei-inspired appearance. Despite her reputation for an unstable personality, he soon discovers that Chihara is much kinder than the rumors suggest, even if she has some eccentricities.
Thus, the direction is by Yasuaki Fujii at the Synergy SP, with scripts supervised by Keiichiro Ochi, character design by Majiro, and soundtrack composed by Arisa Okehazama.
Finally, Mai Chihara will begin her musical career with the digital single “Alien Alien”, a cover of NayutalieN's song, to be released on July 25th.
