As we announced at the beginning of February, Death Note is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and the fifth volume of Shueisha Jump Remix announced that the manga will have a special project. Today, a countdown was started on the websitefor March 3rd at noon, with only a vague clue about the anticipated event.

“Touch this notebook, and your memories will be revived.” The reader can also move the cursor over the Death Note, which will cause Ryuk, the god of death, to appear above it.

The announced event was a "game real escape" commemorating the series' 10th anniversary. An escape game is a public participation event held in Japan that involves using clues to escape a locked room within a set time.

The game will be held from May 30th to July 27th at an unspecified location. Tickets will go on sale starting March 21st, costing between 2,200 yen (R$ 50.00) and 3,300 yen (R$ 76.00).

The manga was first published in December 2003 by Shueisha in the Japanese weekly magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump, running until May 2006 for a total of twelve volumes. It was later adapted into 37 episodes, produced by Madhouse and directed by Tetsurō Araki.

In Brazil, the manga series was published by Editora JBC.
