The user @Soukatsu_ translated and shared Eiichiro Oda's comment regarding his colleague Gege Akutami. Like Oda, Akutami was one of the judges for the Tezuka Manga Award, where the two manga artists first met. After a proper conversation, Oda praised Akutami, saying that his colleague is a trustworthy person of good character.

“I was able to speak properly with Akutami-san on the Tezuka Prize judging committee for the first time. What a trustworthy person! A person of character.”

Finally, on this Tezuka Manga Award committee, Oda and Akutami served as judges alongside Akira Toriyama (the creator of Dragon Ball), Kazue Kato (the creator of Blue Exorcist), Kōhei Horikoshi (the creator of My Hero Academia), and Nobuhiro Nishiwaki (the creator of Samurai X).

Synopsis:

The story revolves around Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who gained a body made of rubber after eating the magical Gomu Gomu no Mi (Rubber Fruit). Inspired by his childhood idol, the powerful pirate Shanks the Red-Haired, Luffy became a pirate and embarked on a journey across the sea to find the mythical treasure, the One Piece, and proclaim himself the King of the Pirates.
