The new anime adaptation of Full Metal Panic !: Invisible Victory, a continuation of the Full Metal Panic! novel by Shoji Gatoh and illustrated by Shikidouji, has released a trailer. Delayed until Spring 2018, the anime is directed by Katsuichi Nakayama (Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo), with a script by Shoji Gatoh and character designs by Osamu Horiuchi, who has worked on other seasons of the same anime.
The first series was animated by Gonzo studios, the second season was handled by Kyoto Animation studio, while Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, along with this 4th season, is the responsibility of studio Xebec (Fafner in the Azure, Space Battleship Yamato 2199)
The story revolves around a mercenary group called Mithril in a parallel world where the Cold War did not end in 1991.
With over 11 million copies sold, the original light novel was launched in 1998, with the 12th and final volume published in 2010.
