It was an intense week for Jujutsu Kaisen fans . Besides the announcement of the anime's third season and a new movie, Gege Akutami surprised everyone by officially confirming a continuation of the manga.

The new project is called Jujutsu Kaisen 3: Mojuro and will be published in Weekly Shonen Jump starting September 7, 2025.Unlike what many initially imagined, it is not a new work, but rather a direct sequel to the original story.

Gege revealed in a message to fans that the new series will last approximately six months, compiled into three volumes —which could exceed 30 chapters. The first chapter will have 54 pages, almost three times the usual length.

The artwork will be handled by illustrator Yuji Iwasaki, who was praised by Gege himself for the quality of his lines.

A story set in the future

According to initial reports, the story will take place decades after the Shinjuku Showdown arc , focusing on the grandchildren of Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin: Yukka Okkotsu and Tsuruji Okkotsu . During this time, Yuta and Maki are already dead, and new dangers threaten Japan. The fate of characters like Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara is still unknown , but there is an expectation that the manga will answer these questions and expand the universe of the work.

The legacy of Jujutsu Kaisen continues

Despite the manga's rushed ending in 2024, Gege Akutami has shown that there's still much to explore. Mojuro 's arrival promises to reignite the community's excitement and open up new possibilities within the world of jujutsu.
