Currently, Japan is making arrangements for this year's Halloween in Shibuya, and it looks like the Jujutsu Kaisen could be one of the incentives for this concern. Ken Hasebe , mayor of Shibuya, has already issued statements to citizens not to organize Halloween parties as this could end in a disaster.
Jujutsu Kaisen – Halloween could harm Shibuya due to the anime
Check it out:
Before Halloween arrives in Japan, the mayor of Shibuya has taken measures to avoid crowds in the place. Drinking will be prohibited in the area before the day, and the 35 local stores must not sell alcohol. In addition, they hired around 300 private security guards, and 150 municipal authorities will assist with patrols.
According to the mayor, these measures are necessary because the celebrations of that day in Shibuya have turned into a giant and uncontrolled party.
“The situation is much more serious than simple excess tourism. We are talking about a lot of abandoned trash, arrests for harassment and property damage.”
They fear that Shibuya is at risk of a disaster similar to the incident that occurred at Halloween celebrations in the South Korean capital the previous year, which resulted in the deaths of more than 150 people. However, the city also became a major entertainment center due to the Shibuya Incident of Jujutsu Kaisen. So, despite the mayor's measures, the anime can instigate people's interest in visiting the place.
