The official website for the Luminous Witches anime announced today that the anime's production committee has postponed the premiere date to 2022. The anime had previously been scheduled to premiere this year.
The story is a spin-off of the Strike Witches and revolves around a unique squad of "witches who don't fight." Instead, the squad sings to protect the smiles of those who have been driven from their cities by the Neuroi.
Humikane Shimada designed the character designs for the new Witches. Shimada and Projekt World Witches are credited with the original work. Shouji Saeki is directing the anime and handling the series composition. Shinya Murakami is credited with the "Witches Serial Literature." Kadokawa is producing the music, while studio SHAFT is animating the series.
