The new film brings back Miyu Tomita as Riko, Mariya Ise as Reg, and Shiori Izawa as Nanachi. Misaki Kuno also returns as Faputa. Masayuki Kojima continues as director, while Hideyuki Kurata returns to write the franchise's screenplay.
Furthermore, Kevin Penkin remains as the composer of the soundtrack, one of the most striking elements of the series. The character design continues with Kazuchika Kise and Yuka Kuroda, reinforcing the visual identity built since the first season of the anime.

Compilation films return to theaters
While the new feature film is not yet released, the 2019 compilation films will have special limited-time screenings in Japan. Made in Abyss: Journey's Dawn will be shown between May and June, followed by Made in Abyss: Wandering Twilight in the following weeks.
Based on the manga by Akihito Tsukushi, the anime premiered in 2017 and gained prominence for its dark setting in the Abyss, a place filled with mysterious creatures and ancient relics. The most recent sequel was the arc The Golden City of the Scorching Sun, released in 2022.
