The anime Magical Buffs: The Support Caster is Stronger Than He Realized! has received a new promotional video that introduced new characters and reinforced its premiere date for January 2027. However, the news was released on the series' official website and also during Crunchyroll at Anime Expo 2026.

Among the new names announced for the cast are Akeno Watanabe as Camilla, Masaaki Mizunaka as Chronos, and Wakana Kuramochi as Rita Heinkes. They join the protagonists Reiji Kawashima, who plays Wim Strauss, and Hana Hishikawa in the role of Heidemarie.

Synopsis

The story follows Wim Strauss, a support mage who ends up being expelled from his own group after hurting the leader's pride. However, his luck changes when he receives an invitation to join the Nachtlibelle guild, considered one of the strongest in the world.

The adaptation is being produced by JCStaff, directed by Hideki Okamoto. The series script is by Takao Yoshioka, while Yu Murakami is responsible for the character designs based on the original illustrations by Eiri Shirai.

The soundtrack will feature compositions by Yūki Hayashi, known for his work on Haikyu!! and My Hero Academia. Finally, in addition to Crunchyroll, the Magical Buffs anime will also premiere on Netflix Japan.
