The romantic comedy Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms (Kuroiwa Medaka ni Watashi no Kawaii ga Tsūjinai) has had its second season officially confirmed for January 2027. The announcement was made through a teaser video released this Friday, bringing the first information about the return of the anime adaptation.

Lead actors Ryota Iwasaki and Yu Serizawa return to their roles as Medaka Kuroiwa and Mona Kawai. Furthermore, studio Synergy SP remains responsible for production, retaining part of the core team that worked on the first season, which aired in 2025.

Synopsis

The story follows Mona Kawai, considered the most popular girl in school, who is used to attracting attention wherever she goes. However, she encounters an unexpected obstacle in Medaka Kuroiwa, a student indifferent to her charms. While Mona tries to win his attention, Medaka remains firm in his principles, creating a constant rivalry between the two.

Yoshiaki Okumura returns to direct the series, while Yoriko Tomita takes over the scripts. Mayumi Watanabe remains as character designer and Akiyuki Tateyama returns to compose the soundtrack. The original manga is written and illustrated by Ran Kuze, also known for Tokyo Ravens: Sword of Song, and has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2021.
