Snowball Earth: Anime reveals trailer, cast, and ending theme

The anime Snowball Earth has received a new promotional video that reveals more details about the adaptation of Yuhiro Tsujitsugu 's manga . In addition to the trailer, the production revealed a new visual, new cast members, and information about the music that will accompany the series.

The video highlights the ending theme “Ima Kono Mune ni Tagiru no wa”, performed by Ai Higuchi. The opening theme is called “Zero”, marking the first anime theme song by the singer tuki. To celebrate the announcement of the ending theme, Tsujitsugu himself released a special illustration.

Main cast and anime premiere

The series premieres on April 3, 2026, on NTV's late-night block at 11:30 PM Japan time. The main cast includes Takuto Yoshinaga as Tetsuo Yabusame, Daisuke Hirakawa as Yukio, Ami Koshimizu as Ao Nogi, and Konomi Tamura as Hagane Takimura.

Snowball Earth is an action and science fiction manga created by Yuhiro Tsujitsugu and published in Shogakukan's Monthly Spirits magazine since 2021.

Snowball Earth Production

The anime is directed by Munehisa Sakai at Studio KAI. Takeshi Iwata serves as assistant director, while Shigeru Murakoshi supervises the scripts. Character design is by Toshiya Kono, who also works as chief animation director. Overall production is by TOHO animation.

Synopsis of the anime

In the story, gigantic monsters from space attack Earth in 2025. To fight them, humanity uses the robot Yukio, piloted by Tetsuo Yabusame. After humanity's defeat, Tetsuo awakens years later on a completely frozen planet, now called Snowball Earth.
