Synopsis:
Tatsumiyajima is the central island of a small archipelago in an isolated location in Japan. Not much happens there; the island's young people go to school knowing their lives should remain peaceful and trouble-free… At least, that's what they've been taught, but the truth is different. The future of humanity is in danger, and Tatsumiyajima is the last line of defense against a mysterious enemy. To fight for the continuation of human existence, a giant robot called Fafner protects humanity's last treasure.
Soukyuu no Fafner Behind the Line is a mecha anime franchise that began with a TV series in 2004 and subsequently spawned films, specials, and a new TV anime to continue the story, finally culminating in episodic films.
