Recently, the production of the first OVA of Suisei no Gargantia was revealed, along with the design of a new character who will appear in the animation. The character in question will be voiced by Yui Horie, although it has been known for some time that Minori Chihara (responsible for the series' opening theme) will voice another original character who will appear in the third OVA. The first Blu-ray disc, along with a 100-page CD book, a collection of storyboards, a box illustrated by Hanaharu Naruko , and other extras, is scheduled for release on July 26th. The story of Suisei no Galgantia takes us to a distant future, in a remote part of the galaxy, where the Human Galactic Alliance has long fought for its survival against the aliens known as "Hideous". During an intense battle, the young Lieutenant Redo and his mecha Chamber "fall" into a space-time distortion. Upon awakening from his artificially induced hibernation, he realizes he is on Earth, the planet of the lost frontier, where only the ocean exists and people must live on large ships to survive. Redo "joins" the fleet of ships called Gargantia and finds himself forced to live with Amy, a 15-year-old girl who works as a messenger on board the fleet. Now Redo, who has always been a soldier, is surprised by all the peace and calm he finds living on the Gargantia.
