The event recreated the Yuna, originally seen in the film Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale, released in 2017. Within the chronology of the work, the presentation takes place precisely on April 29, 2026, connecting the experience with the story's timeline.
Despite the announcement, the format of the new film remains undefined. Both this announcement and the one made in November 2022 during the “Sword Art Online -Full Dive-” event avoid confirming whether the production will be animated. Even so, the project is described as an original narrative, separate from the source material.
Origin and expansion of the Sword Art Online franchise

Created by Reki Kawahara, the series began as a web novel in 2001 and was officially published by Dengeki Bunko in 2009. The main story concluded with the Alicization arc, but continued with new sagas such as Moon Cradle and Unital Ring, keeping the work active to this day.
In addition to the novels, Sword Art Online has already received adaptations in anime, films, manga, and even live-action projects. The spin-off Sword Art Online Progressive also yielded two animated feature films, further expanding the series' universe.
