Fans of The Rising of the Shield Hero (Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari) can rejoice: the anime has just had its 5th season confirmed. The announcement was made shortly after the airing of the final episode of the fourth season, broadcast this Wednesday. In addition, a teaser visual and a special trailer were also released to mark the news.

The studio Kinema Citrus, responsible for the fourth season, has not yet had its participation officially confirmed in the new season. In the previous season, the team included Hitoshi Haga as director, Takanori Yamamoto as assistant director, Keigo Koyanagi screenwriter, and a soundtrack composed by Kevin Penkin, Alfredo Sirica, and Natalie Jeffreys.
The character designs were handled by Franziska van Wulfen, Sana Komatsu, and Masahiro Suwa. The opening and ending theme songs were performed by well-known artists: MADKID with "Resolution" and Chiai Fujikawa with "Once in Eternity".

Created by Aneko Yusagi, the work began as a web novel on the website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Later, it was officially published by Media Factory, with illustrations by Seira Minami. As of 2019, the series had 22 published volumes.
