Oshi no Ko – Voice actress may leave the anime due to health issues

Voice actress Saori Ōnishi, who is part of the current cast of the anime Oshi no Ko, has had her work affected due to health problems. She voices the character Yuki Sumi, but her participation in the cast will be limited in the next few episodes because she is experiencing difficulty breathing and dizziness.

The announcement came from the talent agency I'm Enterprise, stating that Ōnishi had been very ill in recent days. Her doctor then recommended that the voice actress cancel some of her work to rest. Since she began voicing Yuki, her presence has become essential in the latest episodes of Oshi no Ko. However, depending on her health, she will have to limit or stop working on the anime.

Synopsis:

The story follows a doctor named Gorou, a fan of a 16-year-old idol named Ai Hoshino. One day, Hoshino appears at his office, claiming to be pregnant with twins, but her manager tells her to abort the babies. However, the idol refuses to abort; she wants to have both children. Gorou promises her a safe delivery. Little does he know that an encounter with a mysterious figure will result in his premature death, or so he thought. However, upon opening his eyes in the arms of his beloved idol, Gorou discovers he has been reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino, Ai's newborn son! With his world turned upside down, Gorou soon discovers that the world of showbiz is full of controversies, where talent doesn't always bring success.

Thus, Akasaka and Yokoyari began the manga in Young Jump 's Shueisha in 2020. Volume 12 of the manga was published on March 17, 2023 in Japan.
