UNDER THE DOG

As always, I couldn't help but write about this new project that deeply captivated me, because I really enjoy the sci-fi action vibe, typical of Akira with a hint of Ghost in the Shell. The new project, titled Under the Dog already announced here on our website, is currently in production and being funded by you – that's right, a crowdfunding campaign was recently launched through Kickstarter. This campaign aims to produce this new animation with the highest possible quality for otaku fans, relying on a highly talented team, without the need for massive interference from large companies, thus avoiding manipulation of the original work.

The project is currently being directed by Masahiro Andô, director of Hanasaku Iroha and Sword of the Stranger , and is nearing the end of its campaign, which concludes on September 8th.

The idea is to aim to carry on the tradition of classic science fiction titles, such as Akira and Ghost in the Shell. The material was written between 1994 and 1995. The production team is using Kickstarter in order to avoid the funding process of production committees, to maintain creative control.

A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY:

A sci-fi anime set in Tokyo in the year 2025, five years after a highly terrorist attack at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The UN has formed a branch of secret forces in the city to hunt down terrorists and anyone connected to them. An international school has been created to recruit highly talented high school students with special abilities and enroll them in the elite extermination group.

DESIGN IS A STRENGTH:

Speaking a bit about the main character, Anthea, who is the highlight not only in the images but also in the trailer, since the project began, Anthea has changed the most. The older design is on the left while the most recent is on the right in the image mentioned below. Yusuke Kozaki (Game: Fire Emblem Awakening), the character designer, worked on the designs of Anthea and all the other characters that will appear during the series.

Under the Dog will be available digitally with subtitles in several languages ​​and Japanese audio. When funded, the anime will come with English, German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese subtitles. Furthermore, Hideo Kojima , the creator of the Metal Gear franchise, praised the project.

The anime will be available for digital download and physical media for backers who pledged over $25. Additionally, those who donate $35 will receive an HD digital download, and those who donate $45 will receive an additional art book.
