The new anime The Ghost in the Shell released its fifth promotional video, highlighting for the first time the opening theme song "Go Ghost," performed by the band King Gnu. The announcement took place during Anime Expo 2026, reinforcing the approaching world premiere of the production.
Furthermore, the anime will arrive on Prime Video on July 7, 2026, with simultaneous streaming in over 240 countries and regions. In Japan, it will air on the Ka-Anival!! block on Kansai TV and Fuji TV. Before the official premiere, the first two episodes were presented at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France.
The anime adaptation of The Ghost in the Shell is being produced by studio Science SARU , with Mokochan directing in her directorial debut. Toh Enjoe is overseeing the scripts , while Shūhei Handa is responsible for character design. The soundtrack features compositions by Taisei Iwasaki, Ryō Konishi, and Yuki Kanesaka.
Finally, the closing theme, "Blue," is performed by MILLENNIUM PARADE feat. Saya Gray and Daniel Caesar.
