The publisher Viz Media released a teaser confirming the production of the anime Hirayasumi, an adaptation of the manga by Keigo Shinzo. The video introduces the main staff and indicates that the series is scheduled to premiere in January 2027 on Japanese television.
The anime will air on NHK General in Japan. The project is a co-production between Viz Media, Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions, and the animation studio Production +h. The teaser also revealed the first promotional visual for the series.

The anime will be directed by Kei Suezawa, known for works such as Fate/Grand Order: Divine Realm of the Round Table – Camelot and FLCL Progressive. Character design will be handled by Naoyuki Asano, an artist who has worked on series such as Urusei Yatsura and Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!.
Furthermore, Mika Nishimura is in charge of art direction, while Kaori Sawada composes the soundtrack. The team brings together experienced professionals from recent anime industry productions, which reinforces the care taken in adapting the original material.

Hirayasumi is a slice-of-life drama manga written and illustrated by Keigo Shinzo, published since April 2021 in Shogakukan's Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine. The story follows Hiroto Ikuta, a 29-year-old man who lives without hurry, without a steady job, and without big plans.
Even so, he faces life calmly. While dealing with people full of doubts and worries, Hiroto tries to find meaning in the small moments of everyday life.
Currently, the series has over 1.1 million copies in circulation worldwide. The manga has also received nominations for major awards, including the Manga Taisho and the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize. Furthermore, Hirayasumi inspired a live-action series broadcast by NHK.
