Atlus has confirmed that Metaphor: ReFantazio will be released for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 12, 2026. The announcement came during the most recent Nintendo Direct broadcast, which also revealed a new trailer for the Nintendo Switch version.

Originally released in October 2024 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, the fantasy RPG marked Studio Zero's debut in a large-scale original project. The title quickly garnered attention for its art direction and the team responsible, comprised of veterans from the Persona.
The Persona team returns to the project
The game is directed by Katsura Hashino, known for his work on Persona 5.In addition, it features important names from the franchise, such as Shigenori Soejima in character design and Shoji Meguro composing the soundtrack.
In the story, players explore a kingdom surrounded by mysteries and political instability. The journey involves forging alliances, facing challenges, and searching for a destiny capable of changing the future of the world.
Manga expands the universe of the work
The franchise's success also resulted in a manga adaptation. Illustrated by Yoichi Amano, the work began serialization in Shueisha's V Jump magazine in January 2025. Currently, the series is also being published simultaneously in English through the MANGA Plus platform.
