team Neverness to Everness has officially spoken out following the controversy surrounding the use of AI (artificial intelligence) in promotional artwork for the game. In a post on the project's official Xbox profile, the developers stated that the title continues to be produced primarily by human artists, writers, and designers.

According to the statement, AI-powered tools were used only on a small portion of the background elements and environmental settings. Furthermore, the studio emphasized that characters, narrative, and core creative direction were not generated using automated methods.

Team promises to review criticized artwork

The developer also confirmed that it has begun reviewing two materials flagged by the community: “Clear Skies in Summer” and “Pink Paws Heist.” Both received criticism after players identified possible signs of AI-generated imagery in secondary game art.

In recent days, the discussion has gained momentum on social media, especially among digital artists and fans of anime-style. Part of the community has expressed concern about the impact of these technologies on the creative industry, while other players have defended the project by highlighting the work of hundreds of professionals involved in its development.

Debate on AI continues to grow

Although the studio tried to reassure players, the case has reignited debates about transparency in the use of AI in Japanese games and anime-style productions. The topic has recently surfaced in other projects in the industry, increasing pressure for clearer stances from companies.
